Since the wait for Wildermyth's Switch port seems like it's going to be a long one, Switch owners should consider picking up some of the indie games showcased at this week's Nintendo Indie World while they wait. There are seemingly limitless possibilities for how a player's time with Wildermyth can shake out, making the game one of 2021's most innovative and memorable. Essentially functioning as a tabletop RPG, the game is procedurally generated not just with things like enemy placement and the map, but with its characters and story, meaning that each player's experience with the game is truly unique to them. Wildermyth was released earlier this year and has made its way into plenty of Game of the Year lists due to its truly unique concept.

Due to how much work a shift like that will take, Austin told the outlet that the port will take "at least a year." Fanbyte's reporting doesn't confirm if other console ports will be worked on alongside the Switch one. Given how popular the RPG has been on PC, a port to consoles feels like a good move for the game however, fans won't be given a finalized release date for quite some time. Unfortunately, there isn't a proper release date for it yet, but Worldwalker Games' Nate Austin has confirmed that a console port is in the works and that Switch fans can expect it coming in the future.Īustin spoke about the game with Fanbyte on the site's podcast Thanks for the Knowledge earlier this week and, although the episode won't be airing until December 19, Fanbyte has announced that a Wildermyth Switch port was confirmed during the discussion.

2021 has been a great year for indie games coming to the Switch and now one of the year's hottest indie titles, Wildermyth, will be making its way to the platform.
